This article focuses on the current planetary transits over the USA chart. If politics isn’t your thing, or if the perspective I offer differs significantly from your own, feel free to skip it or unsubscribe. I don’t always dive into politics in my astrological writings—but right now, with the planetary movements and their impact on what’s unfolding on the ground, I’m standing up and taking great interest in the current and fast-moving developments in the country and world.
Observed here is the chart for the Summer Solstice. Further along in this article, this event will be placed around the country’s wheel. There are several factors worth noting.
Notice Pluto Rising in the chart! Rising up from the depths, representing Aquarius—the people! And, staring crossly at both the Sun and Moon with its not-so-friendly square to the Moon and quincunx to the Sun/Jupiter. An incredible force, unable to withstand the pressure any longer, rises up and unleashes havoc, but ultimately saves the day, much like Pandora opening her box.

ASTEROID PALLAS ATHENA and
FATHER ZEUS (Jupiter)
First, it’s essential to highlight something often overlooked: the asteroids. Pallas (Athena) is making her return to the natal chart, a rare event that happens roughly every four to five years. The last one occurred during the height of the COVID pandemic. It’s a time when issues related to legality, the rights of citizens, and the extent of government power come to the forefront, especially with Pallas in Aquarius, conjunct the Moon. During the last return, the issue of vaccines and what was legal, illegal or forced upon the public became the topic, which veered into other essential matters. A planet or asteroid return can be seen as one that fulfills its initial mission. Was it successful? What needs to change? The placement taps into the country’s ideal of freedom, as its citizens see themselves as living in a free nation. It raises key questions, such as: When is it justifiable for a government or its officials to break the country’s own laws? While Pallas doesn’t govern a specific sign like the planets do, it embodies a strong sense of justice. Keep an eye on the numerous lawsuits now unfolding against the current U.S. administration.
Jupiter is making a return to the US Jupiter, which occurs about every 12 years. It will become partile on July 5. Jupiter is also a planet that deals with the meting out of justice, as representative of the higher courts. In that regard, the return of Jupiter checks in and makes a judgment on how that is proceeding. Jupiter, displaying one of its more exaggerated tendencies of showmanship, is literally having a parade, as I write this!
Pallas and Jupiter form a powerful alliance, reflecting their mythological connection—Athena, known as Zeus’s daughter, was often regarded as his ‘favorite’ by some mythographers. Born in an extraordinary way—emerging fully formed from her father’s head—Athena is frequently seen as a manifestation of Zeus’s intellect, or his ‘brainchild.’ In the U.S. natal chart, Pallas Athena’s conjunction with the Moon reinforces the notion that the emotional responses of the people (symbolized by the Moon) will be strongly expressed, highlighting a dynamic and reactive collective energy.” The US is in the midst of a Pallas Return now, and due to its retrograde, this return encompasses a much larger period of operation, reaching close proximity in 2025 and maximum intensity in January 2026.
THE MOON IS SHAKING HANDS WITH THE SUN
For the Solstice chart, the Moon is in Taurus—its place of exaltation—and forms a sextile with both the Sun and Jupiter. The sextile aspect suggests cooperation and potential alignment. I often think of a sextile as someone saying, ‘A good friend of mine is a high-ranking official in the company—they might be able to help you out.’ Whether they actually help is beside the point; the connection itself opens a door. It’s about access and increased visibility. The opportunity exists—the door has been unlocked and slightly opened—but it’s still up to the individual to walk through it and demonstrate their worth. But the Moon is also square Pluto, coming from behind. There’s an unconscious and deeply felt motivating factor involved here which could turn out to be something entirely different than what was seen on the surface. Pay attention to what’s lurking in the shadow.

The Ongoing Dance Between Mercury and Pluto
Mercury is returning to its natal position in the U.S. chart, forming a powerful opposition to natal Pluto. This longstanding tension between Mercury and Pluto symbolizes the dynamic between transparency and secrecy—Mercury seeks to uncover and communicate, while Pluto thrives in the shadows, guarding what lies beneath. Mercury, one of the few mythological figures allowed to move freely through the underworld, has the cunning and agility to slip in and out undetected—its trickster nature often catching us off guard. Whether retrograde or direct, Mercury can catch us off guard, and in the coming weeks, its influence intensifies. As this opposition peaks, we may see themes around the ‘freedom of the press’ rise sharply to the surface, along with efforts to suppress or manipulate information. This exact aspect will be most potent on June 22, with its return and then again on June 25 as it opposes Pluto. But, with its effects reverberating for about a week on either side, it can appear to last about 10-12 days.
URANUS – EVERYBODY LOVES A PARADE (???) or else Expect the Unexpected!
Uranus is a mere 9 degrees away from its natal position in the US chart. It will reach its exact degree in two years, in July 2027, when it will have its maximum impact, but all planets provide us with warning signs as to what is to come. We are already feeling it! Uranus is the planet most closely associated with revolution, and each time the US has had a Uranus return in its 249-year history, there have been bold acts of revolution. This is due in large part to the nodes of Uranus being in Gemini, not far from its natal placement. By early July, when Uranus enters Gemini, we will be previewing what’s to come for the 7-year passage of Uranus through Gemini.
But before Uranus enters Gemini, it’s already striking with sudden, war-like intensity—delivering lightning-fast disruptions fueled by a weeks-long square with Mars, which reached exactitude in mid-June. True to form, we’re now witnessing clear manifestations of this volatile Mars-Uranus energy: an unusually visible military parade on U.S. soil, widespread protests both domestically and abroad, and the emergence of a new conflict involving Israel and Iran. These are classic signatures of Uranian upheaval and Martian aggression playing out on the world stage.
THE ARIES CLUSTER F***
Saturn-Neptune and the Venus Star Point of 2025 all sit in Aries at the base of the chart, on the IC, squaring Jupiter, who has just entered Cancer. The IC is Saturn’s weakest position, according to observers of Saturn’s 29-year cycle around the Sun, with one theory being that the IC is opposite the MC, where it holds the most power. Furthermore, it’s positioned in Aries, the sign of its fall (opposite to its exaltation sign of Libra). I’m not necessarily a proponent of exaltation and fall in astrology, but let’s say the ancients are right about this one. Leadership is perceived as weak, so it overcompensates to appear strong. Saturn will be lurking around Aries until early 2028, triggering off squares to the US Venus, Jupiter, Sun, Mercury and the opposition to its own placement. If Saturn is acting following its nature, strong suppression by law enforcement to the existing will of leadership will succeed.
Leadership reflects these two fallen positions by going to extremes to make its position seem superior, when in reality it has no solid foundation, both legally (Saturn) and morally (Jupiter). Jupiter, who is the chart’s ruling planet, will spend most of 2025 in the 7th House of alliances, both friendly and adversarial. The house of partners and open enemies will surely have the country renewing its vows with its former allies (or NOT) in a time period when longstanding friends might now just be turning their backs on you. But like anyone who has just emerged from a long relationship and now finds itself divorced, new admirers will come calling—determining who is actually your friend and who has something a bit more devious up their sleeve—that is worth taking note of.
This is just a skim of the surface! There are many more things that could be commented on. Needless to say, it’s time to pay attention and take action.
Saying the country is facing a constitutional crisis doesn’t quite capture the extent of it. But what other term could you use? There’s no name for it because this is something entirely unprecedented in U.S. history.
